The start of October means we’re 6 months away from the start of the 2020 Census, and we want to make sure EVERY CHILD COUNTS in Wisconsin!

WISCONSIN COUNTS!

As you know, accurate census counts are critical in many ways to school and federal funding, programs and community resources, political maps, and much more. Wisconsin receives about $1600 for every person counted in the census. Data shows that many of our communities were not accurately counted in the past, and that young children are frequently “missed” on the census.

We want to help local teams and districts play an active role in making sure ALL Wisconsin children count in 2020 – and especially those living in “hard to count” and underserved communities.

Start now by taking the pledge to count in the Census. You’ll get access to updates, information, and the truth about why the 2020 Census is so important and what we stand to lose if we don’t fill it out.

Wisconsin Public Education Network will be working with nonprofit partners around the state to make sure communities and schools have the resources they need to help, and we encourage you to bookmark these resources:
