This training will give you the tools to pitch your education justice campaign to the press using your personal story and winning narratives to advocate for public schools.

Participants will learn what makes a pitch newsworthy, how to identify what reporters want, and leverage national conversations on public schools to create a timely news hook. This training will have key tips on how to present a positive vision for public schools that counter and neutralizes the opposition’s anti-equity messages in the press.

There will be practice time for participants to craft a pitch email that presents education justice organizations as an extension of the newsroom through helping reporters file compelling stories by deadline.
